Abstract

Portrait of Dr. Boris SchapiroDear visitor to the RKM web-site,

The Rotary Piston Machines (in German: RotationsKolbenMaschinen, or RKMs) are a new class of machines. for the transformation of stored chemical (through combustion) or physical (through pressure) energy into rotation (engines) or, vice versa, of rotation into pressure (pumps and compressors).

The RKM is a new basic technology, i.e. a technology which will become the basis of multiple new technologies in many fields.  The RKM machines utilize entirely new principles of piston’s motion and transfer of power. Numerous favorable scientific reviews of the RKM Technology and six working functional models of machines based on those new principles leave no doubt whatsoever in their scientific validity. In short, the RKM Technology is no longer a hypothesis but a working technology ready to be developed into various new machines and introduced to user markets.

In comparison with conventional machines, e.g., those where the pistons are moving back-and-forth, the RKM machines offer substantial advantages:  the RKMs of equivalent power will be up to 5 times smaller in size and weight than conventional machines, will have higher efficiency (lower energy consumption) and a longer life.  The RKMs will also have fewer components than conventional machines and, therefore, will be more reliable and significantly cheaper to manufacture.

At present, the RKM Technology is protected by six patents in 32 leading industrial countries of the world.  Thus, RKM GbR, a German company which is the sole owner of all rights to the technology, holds a monopoly-like position for further development of this intellectual property currently valued by experts at over $2 billion.

In order to bring the RKMs to the markets as quickly as possible, we initially focus on the development of the RKM Technology as volume-displacing pumps for middle- and high-pressure ranges.  Such machines will have a continuous flow capability and will be energy efficient, compact, wear-resistant, scalable from micro to macro sizes, and cost-efficient in production.

The prospective areas of application for the RKM pumps include oil, fuel and water pumps.  They may be successfully used for moving non-abrasive fluids when middle or high pressure is required, i.e., in hydraulic mechanisms such as presses and lifts; in fluid and gas transportation systems; in fuel injectors; in irrigation and heating systems; in water-jet, hydro- and pneumatic engines; in medical devices, and in numerous other applications.  The world market for possible applications of the RKM Technology as various types of pumps exceeded $450 billion in 2002.

We have established good contacts and close cooperation with both development companies and potential manufacturers. The markets for the RKM Technology and the strategy for entering them have been well defined, and the spectrum of potential customers is known.

At the present stage, we are looking not for customers, but for intelligent partners and investors who would help to ensure our joint success in entering the pump market and, at a later time, other markets for the RKM Technology as well.

If you are interested in the RKM Project as an investor or a financial broker, please contact me.  I will be delighted to convince you in the attractiveness of our project.

Sincerely,

Boris Schapiro, Ph. D.
